much ado about nothing
This is a high-seas reimagining of Shakespeare's romantic comedy, set on the island of Messina as a pirate stronghold. Captain Don Pedro and his crew arrive with treasure in tow, and the chaos begins when young Claudio falls for Hero, the leader's daughter, while the sharp-tongued Benedick and Beatrice trade witty insults that cut like cutlasses. Don Pedro's villainous brother Don Jon plots to wreck it all with lies and betrayal, pushing the lovers to the edge before love wins out. The show runs three hours with two intermissions and includes flashing lights, loud noises, theatrical haze, staged combat, and mature themes, so it is not for very young children.
