arts & culturechill
Through a Glass Darkly is a 1961 Swedish film by director Ingmar Bergman about a family on a remote island retreat whose fragile bonds unravel when the father's daughter, Karin, discovers he has been using her schizophrenia as material for his writing. As Karin's mental illness deepens, her father, husband, and younger brother find themselves helpless to stop her decline. The film runs ninety minutes and is presented in Swedish with English subtitles. Tickets are ten dollars, and members and youth under eighteen get in free. All guests check in at the front desk to receive an admission token. This screening is part of Cinema at the Museum's November series, which was built from suggestions submitted by audiences in the museum's 2026 film program survey.
